- 14 Accountable Ltd.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 02-28-1994
- DESC: Accountable Ltd - Accountable Ltd. is an account manager for the
- KEY: Accountable Ltd.sit KBytes: 66560
- DESC: Newton. This Ltd. version is limited to five accounts. Each of
- DESC: those accounts are limited to twenty transactions. If you decide to
- DESC: move up to Accountable, the data you create in Ltd. can be used in
- DESC: it. Accountable responds to many words and phrases via Assist.
- DESC: Accountable only adds the verb ‘Pay’ to the Assist menu, but it
- DESC: will also respond to - Charge, Deposit, Withdraw, Fly, and
- DESC: variations. Try running a phrase like “Charge $30 to Visa at Acme
- DESC: for shirt” through Assist, substituting your own credit account
- DESC: reference. Once you are ready to move up to the full working

- DESC: AnsweringMachine - This is a program for the Newton, which must be
- KEY: AnsweringMachine.sit KBytes: 24576
- DESC: installed with the Newton Connectivity Kit. This is a small program
- DESC: to use with your answering machine. Just enter your individual
- DESC: codes and call back the messages, store a new message.. It´s uses
- DESC: about 41KByte on your Newton.

- 12 AssistCalc2.01.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 02-09-1994
- DESC: AssistCalc2.01 - AssistCalc was written to add many mathematical
- KEY: AssistCalc2.01.sit KBytes: 10240
- DESC: functions to the Newton. For example, what if you want to calculate
- DESC: the following - ((57*6)+89) / log 5. This could be a pain on
- DESC: Newton's calculator. AssistCalc allows the user to write out (not
- DESC: tap, tap, tap) your equation and AssistCalc will try it's best to
- DESC: figure out an answer for you. You can then copy the answer to where
- DESC: you need it. You can either use the AssistCalc program, or write a
- DESC: problem anywhere, highlight it and click on Assist. You will then
- DESC: be taken into the AssistCalc program, and the answer will be given.
- DESC: AssistCalc can deal with math functions such as - acos(x) asin(x)
- 11 CheckPlease! 1.1.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 11-20-1993
- DESC: CheckPlease! 1.1 - Here is a restaurant check calculator for the
- KEY: CheckPlease! 1.1.sit KBytes: 29696
- DESC: Newton. It is simple but effective (even tested in the field!).
- DESC: Source code (for NTK) is included and shows examples of user
- DESC: prototypes for numerical input and animated buttons. New to this
- DESC: version - The tax and tip rates are saved in the system soup so
- DESC: they now survive a hard reset; The tax and tip rates are not removed
- DESC: from the soup if you remove the application; The check total field
- DESC: is a little larger to make entry easier; Sanity checks are performed
- DESC: on the various input fields to prevent the Newton from crashing on
- DESC: bad numeric data. Extensively tested and free!
- 10 Commuter 1.0.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 11-10-1993
- DESC: Commuter 1.0 - Commuter is a shareware application for your Newton.
- KEY: Commuter 1.0.sit KBytes: 11264
- DESC: Commuter allows you to quickly change your location in the world
- DESC: clock (Time Zones) application. It will store up to eight
- DESC: frequently traveled to cities for you to commute between.
- 9 Graphing101a4.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 02-09-1994
- DESC: Graphing101a4 - Graphing 101 provides basic scientific graphing for
- KEY: Graphing101a4.sit KBytes: 16384
- DESC: your Newton. Enter expression x textually using the pen and
- DESC: palette. Tap on the graph surface to redraw it. To change bounds,
- DESC: tap on shadow boxes. To make the graph smoother, tap on Segs in the
- DESC: upper right corner. Now you can calculate equations such as
- DESC: sin(2x)/x! Rejoice. Graph any log, In, exp, sin, cos tan, arc, hyp
- DESC: or erf equation.
- 8 GST Calc NZ.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 02-28-1994
- DESC: GST Calc NZ - Welcome to GSTcalc, the most popular Canadian GST
- KEY: GST Calc NZ.sit KBytes: 6144
- DESC: calculator for the Newton MessagePad. Actually, this is a version
- DESC: for New Zealand. Here’s an undocumented feature - you can drag
- DESC: GSTcalc by it’s title! GSTcalc calculates on rounded numbers, which
- DESC: is the right way to calculate taxes (if you don’t do this, you will
- DESC: end up with a 1 cent difference.). Contact the author if you want
- DESC: him to produce a GST calculator for your area!
- 7 GSTcalc 1.3.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 02-28-1994
- DESC: GSTcalc 1.3 - Welcome to GSTcalc, the most popular Canadian GST
- KEY: GSTcalc 1.3.sit KBytes: 9216
- DESC: calculator for the Newton MessagePad. GSTcalc is a simple tool for
- DESC: calculating the Canadian Goods & Services tax, as well as the
- DESC: provincial sales tax for the different provinces. Here are the
- DESC: percentages used for each province - Alberta, North West
- DESC: Territories and Yukon 0%, British Columbia & Manitoba 7%, New
- DESC: Brunswick & Nova Scotia 11%, Newfoundland 12%, PEI 10%, Ontario 8%
- DESC: Quebec (P) 8% (for products, calculated on top of GST), Quebec (S)
- DESC: 4% (for services, calculated on top of GST), and Saskatchewan 9%.

- 6 MortCalc 1.0.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 12-27-1993
- DESC: MortCalc 1.0 - MortCalc is not an Amortization program, but rather a
- KEY: MortCalc 1.0.sit KBytes: 17408
- DESC: tool similar to those lenders use to qualify people for mortgages.
- DESC: Please remember that factors other than just income are use to
- DESC: qualify borrowers. Enter your monthly income before taxes and
- DESC: Newton will tell you how much you can afford for monthly housing,
- DESC: how large of a mortgage you can afford (both with or without
- DESC: downpayment). You can choose a 15 or 30 year mortgage, and set the
- DESC: interest rate and percent down payment. If you enter an incredibly
- DESC: high monthly income, you'll get a reminder to pay the $552
- DESC: shareware fee, otherwise it's whatever where.
- 5 MyCalculator.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 11-10-1993
- DESC: MyCalculator - MyCalculator is intended as a relatively simple
- KEY: MyCalculator.sit KBytes: 28672
- DESC: postfix (i.e. reverse-polish notation or RPN) calculator for the
- DESC: Newton MessagePad. MyCalculator has not been thoroughly tested. Use
- DESC: it at your own risk. If you are calculating something important,
- DESC: double-check your results with some other variety of calculation.
- DESC: Numbers are restricted to six digits after the decimal point,
- DESC: mostly so that they'll fit on the screen. The use of the number and
- DESC: operator keys should be pretty obvious since all of the stack is
- DESC: visible on the screen. Includes full documentation.

- 3 RPN Calc 0.91.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 12-07-1993
- DESC: RPN Calc 0.91 - RPN Calc is my interpretation of an HP41/42 style
- KEY: RPN Calc 0.91.sit KBytes: 11264
- DESC: RPN calculator. It contains most of the basic functionality of an
- DESC: HP scientific calculator. This is my first effort at Newton
- DESC: programming, I hope you enjoy using it. Version 0.91 - Fixed a minor
- DESC: problem with entry of EEX or Decimal immediately after a two operand
- DESC: function (+, -, etc.).

- 2 SciCalc 1.0b4.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 11-10-1993
- DESC: SciCalc 1.0b4 - SciCalc is a simple implementation of a standard
- KEY: SciCalc 1.0b4.sit KBytes: 15360
- DESC: (i.e. NOT Reverse Polish or 'RPN') scientific calculator for the
- DESC: Apple Newton MessagePad and similar PDAs. If you do find problems,
- DESC: please let the author know so that he can rectify them in the next
- DESC: release.

- 1 Tiny Timer 1.0.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 11-10-1993
- DESC: Tiny Timer 1.0 - Tne thing that really surprised me about the
- KEY: Tiny Timer 1.0.sit KBytes: 6144
- DESC: built-in applications in the Newton MessagePad was that there was
- DESC: no timer to time phone calls, meetings or the usual items that we
- DESC: like to keep track of. As a result, I threw together this simple
- DESC: timer for all of us Newton "Pioneers" to use. It is indeed tiny,
- DESC: taking up just a small amount of the precious real estate in the
- DESC: built-in RAM. This is kinda cool. Even if your Newton MessagePad
- DESC: goes to sleep to save on batteries, the timer will keep running.
- DESC: When you turn the Newt back on, you'll be pleasantly surprised to
- DESC: see the time still ticking away. The interface is as simple as
